WOTW: Lift 4 the Legs

This week, I decided to go back to some of my traditional exercises that we all know and love. I’m inspired by tradition because the Super Bowl is coming up this weekend, and we all have our own traditions. Whether it’s a Super Bowl party, making your favorite tailgating snacks, or just watching for the commercials, most of us have our traditions every year on this Sunday.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a volleyball coach and player. In college, we worked everyday on increasing our verticals and leg strength. As I’m getting older and no longer a college athlete, I still work on my legs and glutes, but probably for different reasons. For whatever reason it is though, I always go back to my traditional leg exercises: squats, deadlifts, lunges, etc.

In honor of tradition, the WOTW is Lift 4 the Legs! Your thighs and glutes should be burning after this workout and may be sore tomorrow if you’re not used to lifting with your legs. As always, I added in some lovely cardio to get my legs warm and my heart pumping.

Run 2 minutes

Walk 1 minute

(Repeat 7 times)

Squats 3 x 8-12
